Bryan

“Today was really good for all of us because we had some bad images – some stereotypes – of these people,” begins, Bryan. On a chilly Saturday in November, Serve the City volunteers at Le Phare served pancakes, tea, and coffee to community members, most of them homeless right now. Bryan spent the afternoon playing cards with Ali. When someone inquired if he had a chance to hear some of Ali’s life experiences, Bryan explained, “we were having too much fun for me to ask him his life story! It was nice. Now I think differently when I walk the street; a lot of us think we’re above them, that we’re better because we’re not homeless, but we’re not. We’re the same. I’m proud of Serve the City – what it does is really great – and I’m sure I’ll come back.” To learn more about the Serve the City Sainte Catherine Group, including serving at La Phare, …www.servethecity.brussels/get-involved/ongoing-serving-communities/ You could also join the Serve the City Sainte Catherine Facebook group for current updates www.facebook.com/groups/516660785085798/
