Serve the City is a registered non-profit organisation that mobilises volunteers to show kindness to people in need. From the homeless to refugees, the elderly to victims of abuse — we believe small acts of service can make a big difference.
With thousands of registered volunteers and wide ranging projects we are able to positively impact the community around us for the better.
We’re looking for a passionate and organised Volunteer & Project Manager who will currently focus on strengthen our food outreach efforts and help us build caring communities.
Your Role
As Volunteer & Project Manager for our food projects, you’ll help ensure meals reach those who need them most. Working alongside project leaders and corporate partners, you’ll:
- Recruit, inspire, and manage volunteers.
- Take an active role in expanding and improving our projects.
- Support project leaders and ensure they receive appropriate support and training.
- Maintain and grow partnerships with local organisations.
- Coordinate logistics: orders, deliveries, drivers, and stock.
- Track and report on project progress, impact, and partnerships.
- Assist with grant writing and fundraising activities.
- Ensure compliance with AFSCA food safety regulations.
- Represent Serve the City at corporate volunteering and food distribution events.
The role may in the future evolve to encompass other types of projects beyond food outreach.
Who You Are
- An enthusiast person with strong coordination and leadership skills unafraid of organising groups of people.
- Organised, hands-on, and proactive. We are a small team where everyone rolls their sleeves up and gets stuck in.
- Fluent in French and English (Dutch is a plus).
- Confident managing logistics and leading volunteer teams.
- A solution-oriented person, flexible and able to manage unexpected situations.
- Holder of a valid driving license
- Someone who understands that a smile is an essential tool of the job
